What Were The Expectations?

There are undoubtedly extremely high expectations from the music of Jannat 2 because the prequel had superhit music and Bhatts are known for good music in there movies. With Pritam as music director & Sayeed Quadri as lyricist atleast couple of chartbusters and soulful songs are expected.

Music Analysis

1. Album starts with Tu Hi Mera which gives an ordinary start to the album. Song is decent but not that good as normally expected from Bhatt Camp movies. Shafqat Amanat Ali has given his voice for the song and has done good job. It will take some time to be liked. Lyrics are good and the combo(Singer & Lyricist) make the song passable. 2.5/5

2. Next comes Tera Deedar Hua which also goes the same way and becomes an average one. Though Rahat Fateh Ali Khan has given his voice for the song it was expected to be highlight of the album but sadly it doesn't impresses. Another version Tera Deedar Hua(From The Heart) in which Javed Ali comes as a singer whom voice suits more for the song and makes it better then the original one. 2.5/5

3. After giving an average start to the album Pritam takes KK with him to deliever a song Tujhe Sochta Hu. Believe me this song really works. Magical voice of KK, Awesome lyrics by Sayeed Quadri & soothing music of Pritam to this song changes the track, takes the album to next level
and gives one of the most beautiful songs this so far this year. The song really creates the magic and becomes the highlight of album. A sureshot chartbuster. Another version with Nikhil D' Souza Sang Hoon Tere is also good which gives different taste to the song with some English chorus adding to it. 4/5

4. Now comes another soulful & melodious song Rabb Ka Shukrana which really makes you sing along with the singer Mohit Chauhan. This is another masterpiece from the album and touches your heart so beautifully with its music composition & lyrics. Mohit Chauhan takes your emotions at full swing with his voice and you really want to listen this song in loop. Another chartbuster from the album. Rabb Ka Shukrana(Reprise) which is another version of the same song in which Anupam Amod has given his voice, doesnt matches the original but is worth listen. 4/5

5. Pritam again choses KK for another song Jannatein Kahan to end the album, which is similar to Zara Sa from Jannat. The song has very good lyrics & music which gives a good end to the album. The beats in the music and rocking voice of KK just boosts you up. Jannatein Kahan(Power Ballad) version is awesomly sung by Nikhil D' Souza and hence gives competition to KK who sung the original one. 3.5/5

Overall:

Jannat 2 has its own highs & lows. It has got excellent songs but also there are songs which just fail to impress. The reason could be the two master pieces Tujhe Sochta Hu & Rabb Ka Shukrana overshadows them. The songs are sureshot chartbusters if promoted well. Jannatein Kahan also impresses but doesn't matches the magic that these two songs create. Overall it is a good album, not satisfactory if we compare with Jannat but good enough & worth a buy.

Rating: 3.3/5
