Patiala House which is an unquestionable flop has recorded the best 5th week collections so far this year of around 50 lakhs nett. The previous best was Yamla Pagla Deewana at around 35 lakhs nett.
This has happened due to two factors, one being to the lull period getting it a prolonged run at the box office and an extended run at Rajmandir, Jaipur which is a theatre which collects every week pretty irrelevant of which film is showing.
Infact 16% of the all India collection has come from this one theatre Rajmandir in Jaipur. The exemption in entertainment tax in Rajasthan has also meant that the fourth and fifth week collections remained the same in the desert state.

Nice to KNOw this news as i gr8 patiala house fan . I Think That main problem with this film happened that causes its poor business is its release dates . it is far better than tanu weds manu wich did a good business.
ReplyDeleteu r right vishal. patiala house was hugely applaused by critics even. but the problem was not release date. the prob was the genre.
