After five weeks there will be major releases in Faltu and Game but they face a huge struggle at the box office. The euphoria of the India win over Pakistan means no interest in films at the moment.
Tanu Weds Manu went relatively unaffected by the cricket but as the tournament is near the end and India still there, it has huge repercussions on film business. Business on Saturday is going to awful for both films, possibly up to 70% lower than Friday and if India wins then even Sunday is likely to be hit as the country celebrates.
Both films would have been aiming for a 10 crore nett approx weekend each under normal circumstances but the collections are going to much much lower over the weekend and it will be Monday when normal business is resumed as far as footfalls at theatres is concerned.
