Remo's upcoming 3D Dance Movie 'ABCD' goes on floors

UTV Motion Pictures’ next project, India’s first high-octane dance film in 3D, is all set to go on the floors. Titled ABCD – AnyBody Can Dance, the film is being directed by choreographer-director Remo D’Souza.

India’s best choreographers and dancers of the last few decades – Prabhu Devaa and Ganesh Acharya will be playing key characters in the film. ABCD also stars winners of the hit reality dancing show Dance India Dance like Salman Khan, Dharmesh, Prince, Mayuresh and Vrushali. Lauren Gottlieb, the global winner of the popular television show, So You Think You Can Dance, has been cast as the lead heroine.

Announcing the project, Siddharth Roy Kapur, CEO of UTV Motion Pictures said, “Remo has proven to everyone that he is not only a sensational choreographer but also a director who knows the pulse of today’s audience. He’s the best choice to direct a film based on dance, and with Prabhu Devaa (who is also directing Rowdy Rathore for us), Ganesh Acharya and other leading lights from India’s dance fraternity in the cast, ABCD promises to be a total paisa-vasool family entertainer.”

Commented Remo D’Souza, who had made his directorial debut with FALTU, “It is like a dream coming true for me. I had always nurtured the thought of making a film on my passion – dancing. ABCD is a culmination of multiple dreams actually for me – I get to make a dance film and get the one and only Prabhu Devaa to dance and act in it.”

Prabhu Deva adds, “I can feel so much energy on the sets of ABCD…. I feel like a teenager being around them and it’s great to be dancing again. In fact, I feel more like a dancer working in the film than being an actor.”

The music of ABCD will be composed by Sachin-Jigar. The film is set to release by the end of 2012.
