Ek Deewana Tha had poor first day business despite good promotion. The film collected around 60 lakhs nett and collections were poor in very circuit. The weekend is likely to be 2-2.50 crore nett depending on growth over Saturday and Sunday. The first day figures from some circuits are as follows.

East Punjab - 5 lakhs
CP Berar - 3 lakhs
Mysore - 5 lakhs
