3 had a very good first day on the strength of business in single
screens and multiplexes showing the 3D format doing very well. The
business of the 2D version in multiplexes was average.
The
first day is around 10.25-10.50 crore nett as per early estimates. It
is by far the biggest opening for an Emraan Hashmi solo starrer
bettering Jannat 2 by around 25%. All circuits have clocked up good
numbers and the opening has ensured its success.
The
combination on horror and sex has worked hugely in the films favour
that even though the music was not ruling the charts it still managed a
very big opening.
