What Were The Expectations?
Knowing the genre of movie is very massy, music album is expected to be packed with atleast two or three hard hitting adrenaline pumping songs if not all. Album is also a challenge for producer Sanjay Leela Bhansali who is known for heart touching classy type of music in his movies. So lot of expectations from him that whether he will be successful in meeting the expectations or not.
Music Analysis:
1. Dhadang Dhang gives exactly the required start to the album. Title of the track just matches the work it does. Beats and music set the dance mood in a great way. Time the song starts, it maintains the mood throughout its run. Wajid & Shreya have given voices to the song and they look just perfect for the song. Shreya has always made songs look even better with her sweet voice, and she does the same here making it more spicy. She perfectly adopts the mannerisms required and her 'adaa' of saying that words "Oh Darling Tu Pehle Se... " is fabulous. Wajid does a great job too with his damdaar voice. Lyrics are good and written by Faaiz Anwar who is guest lyricist in the album.
On the whole song is very good and keeps up the expectations. A sureshot chartbuster material if promoted well with good video. 4/5
2. Next comes Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita which has been successful in past in every language it has been recorded. Sung by Mika Singh it is a fun filled song that has everything to impress the youngsters and become a rage. Lyrics are good & music treatment of Sajid Wajid makes it worth listen in a loop. After a single listen you can't control yourself to sing that words "Chinta Ta Ta Chita Chita" continously. 3.5/5
3. The album doesn't loses the momentum it creates with its first two songs. As the most awaited & exciting song of the movie Aa Re Pritam Pyare follows next. It is an item song to which Mamta Sharma has given her voice. Catchy lyrics by Sameer & voice of Mamta Sharma make the song very entertaining. Music is very good and not just keeps up the mood set in the start but also takes it furthur to next level. 4/5
4. After more than couple of dance beat numbers, comes the turn of a romantic number Chamak Challo Chel Chabelli which has very nice lyrics. Most exciting thing of the song is the return of Kumar Sanu to singing. Yes... Kumar Sanu has given his voice to the song in which Shreya Ghoshal has accompanied him. Though Shreya Ghoshal takes the start and carries most part of the song with her. But as soon Kumar Sanu holds the mike it becomes his song all the way.
It is yet another song of the album in a row which has chances to become much popular among the masses especially the likes of Kumar Sanu. 4/5
5. Another romantic number follows with Tera Ishq Bad Teekha. Javed Ali holds the mike this time to accompany Shreya Ghoshal. This is another duet soft romantic song in the album which maintains the softness brought with the previous Chamak Challo song. Good lyrics & tone of the song makes it worth several hears. Javed & Shreya make good singing pair which reflects in the song. 3.5/5
6. Next comes Chandaniya (Lori Lori) which is a situational number and doesn't carries that standalone appeal. Shreya Ghoshal has given her voice for this song too. The song doesn't make us listen again & again in audio, but may look better in the movie according to the situation. 3/5
7. End of the album comes with Rowdy Mix which has dialogues by Akshay Kumar along with some music. Though Akshay's voice looks changed here & fails to impress in some parts but dialogues are good. This is the only non-desi feel song in the album and has western music arrangements attached with it. Overall gives nice & satisfactory ending to the album. 3/5
Overall:
Overall Rowdy Rathore comes out to be an excellent album which has all the ingredients to impress the masses i.e. target audience. Without much remixes the album is a sureshot hit and has more than couple of potential chartbusters. Dhadang Dhang, Aa Re Pritam Pyare, Chamak Challo Chel Chabelli & Tera Ishq Bada Teekha remains on the top with other songs not being far behind.
Rating: 3.6/5
