Since the 2011 has started there are talks everywhere that it is better than previous year. No doubt the year has taken a good start than the 2010 with many sucesses. Movies like No One Killed Jessica, Yamla Pagla Deewana, Dhobi Ghaat, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji, Ye Saali Zindagi & now Tanu Weds Manu has delighted the boxoffice with there success. But one thing that very few would have noticed that not a single movie has came yet which has performed well in single screens except Yamla Pagla Deewana.
Every movie from NOKJ to TWM has performed poorly in single screens with very low occupency rate. Even the big star movies like Patiala House, 7KM, Dil Toh Baccha Hai Ji din't helped the single screens. Every film had its major business share from multiplexes. World Cup has also very much affected single screens. Because there is no big film releasing in March & probably there will be just two releases due to World Cup. So single screens will have nothing to play except the Hits in past few months.
But from April onwards there will be seen big releases like FALTU, Game, Thankyou, Dum Maaro Dum which have to fair well at both single screens & multiplexes to break the trends.
