Ra.One is looking at a 3500 screen release in India. It could even go higher by the time the film hits the theatres. Bodyguard had a 2700 screen release on around 1950 theatres.
Ra.One is likely to have 3100 screen release on around 2100 theatres in Hindi and a possible 350-400 screens in Tamil and Telugu. In the South, it will be by far the largest release for a Hindi film that is dubbed in Tamil and Telugu. There will be around 600 screens showing the 3D version.
It is set to dominate multiplexes like no film before it as it takes up practically all the screens at multiplexes and that too at higher ticket rates at many places.
Bodyguard was the film to cross 1000 UFO digital screens on release with 1175 UFO screens. Ra.One is likely to hit the 1300 plus mark. A lot of the initial business expansion has been helped by these UFO screens as it was just five years ago that a blockbuster like Krissh was released on 85 UFO digital screens.
