Jannat 2 Boxoffice Opening Pre Release Prediction - Gautam Batra

Jannat 2 is an upcoming Bollywood crime thriller film and a sequel to the 2008 hit film, Jannat. The film is directed by Kunal Deshmukh, and produced by Mahesh Bhatt and Mukesh Bhatt. It features Emraan Hashmi, Randeep Hooda, Imran Zahid and Esha Gupta in lead roles and is all set to release on 4th May 2012.

Lets start with the prediction...

1. Promos & Music have been well recieved by audience which will help to get a good opening.

2. Buzz  of the movie is strong & also failure of Tezz will work for Jannat 2.

3. Its a sequel to much appreciated & commercially Hit movie 'Jannat' which will help attracting a lot of audience.

4. Emraan Hashmi today has good fan following among masses & classes, which will work big time & ensure a good opening for the movie.

On the whole Jannat 2 is likely to take a good opening on 4th May and could emerge the highest opener of Emraan Hashmi. First Day could be in the range of 8.5 - 9.5 crore nett.

Disclaimer: Prediction is my own idea gathered from the surveys & buzz about the movies. It is accurate to best of my knowledge but the final boxoffice figures can be sometimes different due to uncertainity in boxoffice. The figures given are the nett domestic figures.

Emraan Hashmi signs his first children movie

Actor Emraan Hashmi, known for his serial kisser image, has revealed that he has signed his first 'U' certified film and gives credits to children for doing it.

"There is an untitled, Universal film, it would be my first 'U' certified film," said Emraan.

"Actually, I was shooting in Jaipur three-four years back and some children told me that we watch your songs, but our parents don't allow us to see your films. So I said, one day when I get a good script, I'll definitely make a film for you all."

"Fortunately, I have got such a script. It is still in the pre-production stage and it has not been announced yet, but it is for universal audience," he added.

The 33-year-old was speaking Sunday at a promotional event for his upcoming film "Jannat 2".

Emraan, who was last seen in "The Dirty Picture," says that he values audience opinion more than the critics.

"There is an adulation that you get from audience. I never really give too much importance to critics or any awards. So for me, audience's acceptance is my yardstick for success," said the actor.

Directed by Kunal Deshmukh, "Jannat 2" is set for a May 4 release. It also marks the debut of model Esha Gupta in Bollywood. Emraan said even after nine years in filmdom, Fridays make him jittery.

"For me as an actor, as a performer, it's a high, a positive sign for me that there is an adrenaline rush when the film releases Friday. I still wonder how the film is going to work, how will it be appreciated. This is fun, but scary too," he said.

No problem to work with Rekha - Amitabh Bachchan

An all time popular on screen couple, Amitabh Bachchan and Rekha might have parted ways over decades but Big B doesn't rule out the possibility of reuniting with her again on the silver screen.

The two have earlier worked together in films like " Silsila", "Mr Narwarlal", "Muqaddar Ka Sikandar" among others.

Vicky Donor ten day total business

Vicky Donor had a rock solid second weekend as it grossed around 6.25 crore nett in its second weekend. The business was driven by the three main circuits of Mumbai, Delhi/UP and East Punjab. The combined total from these three circuits was over 4.75 crore nett.

The film has now grossed close to 20.50 crore nett in ten days and heads for a 30 crore nett plus finish. The drop in the second weekend was just around 20%.

Vicky Donor was helped by the non performance of Tezz as it remained the number one choice in terms of Hindi films at multiplexes across India.

Tezz Weekend Business

Tezz has emerged the biggest flop of 2012 with first weekend collections of around 11.25-11.50 crore nett. The film may not even cross the 20 crore nett mark for lifetime business. The opening was dull and the film trended badly over the weekend. The weekend territorial breakdown is as follows.

Mumbai - 4.34 crore

Delhi/UP - 2.27 crore

East Punjab - 78 lakhs

West Bengal - 46 lakhs

Bihar - 25 lakhs

CP Berar - 60 lakhs

CI - 47 lakhs

Rajasthan - 76 lakhs

Tezz doesn't accelerates on Saturday

Tezz showed no improvement on Saturday as collections were similar to its first day collections. The circuits which were better on Friday like Rajasthan and CI dropped 25% on Saturday but other circuits showed slight improvement as collections could not go much lower.

The film collected 3.50 crore nett approx on day two taking its total to around 7 crore nett. Sunday may show a rise in business but it will not be enough to stop the film from bring a box office disaster.

Tezz is being dominated by The Avengers all over India while even Vicky Donor in it second week is recording higher numbers in the North.

Saturday, April 28, 2012

Vicky Donor doing extraordinarily well in its second weekend

Vicky Donor remained largely unaffected by the release of Tezz and The Avengers as North India had extraordinary collections on day 8 and other premium multiplexes around the country remained rock steady.

The film collected around 1.40 crore nett on its second Friday which is just a 15-20% drop from its first Friday. The second weekend of the film should be in the 5.5-6 crore nett region as the film will benefit most from the public rejection of Tezz.

East Punjab and Delhi/UP fell just 5-10% from its first day. In Punjab and Delhi city, Vicky Donor recorded better collections at many cinemas on the 8th day than Tezz on its first day.

Tezz First Day Actual Business

Tezz collected a poor 3.50 crore nett on day one. The first day territorial breakdown is as follows.

Mumbai - 1.33 crore

Delhi/UP - 68 lakhs

East Punjab - 23 lakhs

West Bengal - 12 lakhs

Bihar - 9 lakhs

CP Berar - 21 lakhs

CI - 17 lakhs

Vikram - Paoli's next on Wife Swapping

After the film about a woman who turns into a hooker to get even with the man who wronged her, here's an even bigger shocker. Producer-director Vikram Bhatt is all set to make a film on the taboo subject of wife-swapping with the bold-and-the-uninhibited Rehana Sultan of this millennium Paoli Dam in the lead.

Vikram who has been researching on wife-swapping has some startling statistics on spouse-swapping . Says Bhatt, "Why do you say wife-swapping is taboo? You'd be surprised to know how many urban couples indulge in it. It's prevalent, almost rampant in the big cities. Go on the internet. There are websites devoted to wife-swapping. That's what we've come to. I want to explore the psychology of wife-swapping. How does a man tell his wife to go and sleep with his friend and how does the wife give consent to her husband's sexual tryst with another woman? More importantly, how do the husband and wife look at each other in the eye the morning after? These are questions that haunt me."

Refraining from commenting on Abbas-Mustan's atrocious film 'Ajnabee' on wife-swapping Vikram says he enjoyed Rajat Kapoor's 'Mixed Doubles'. "That was a light take on wife-swapping. Mine would be far more dark and probing."

Vikram says he has chosen Paoli in the wife-swapping tale because of her lack of selfconsciousness before the camera. "Paoli has the courage to go beyond her body on camera. That's where I want to go with Love Games."

When asked about her sexually-charged roles and how it would impact her image and career in Bollywood Paoli Dam shrugged, "Love Games is another bold film, I agree.Vikram and I are working on my character. Rest assured I won't be doing what I'm expected to. My character won't resemble what I played in 'Hate Story'."

Refuting reports that her family and her boyfriend in Kolkata are exceedingly upset with her bare-dare act Paoli says, "First of all I am single. As far as my parents are concerned they don't react. My maa Papua Dam is a music teacher. She used to be associated with NGOs in Kolkata. My father Aman Dam is an entrepreneur. He is a tekker and a photographer by hobby, hence my name Paoli. It's the name of a mountain peak. My brother Mainak has just completed college."

Apparently the entire Dam family is quite cool with the daughter of the family carving a curvaceously unorthodox career route for herself.

As for wife-swapping, Vikram says it goes back to our mythology. That doesn't mean he's making a mythological film on sharing more than just a hello with your friend's wife.

Priyanka is not the reason behind delay of Barfee - Anurag Basu

Director Anurag Basu has denied reports that his forthcoming film "Barfi!" is being delayed because of Priyanka Chopra, who is playing the female lead in the movie that also stars Ranbir Kapoor.

"Nothing is getting delayed because of her (Priyanka), she has given a lot of dates," said Anurag Basu at the success party of Onir's "I Am".

"I have been denying it again and again but these reports keep cropping up. She has already finished her work, only two days work is left and it is merely a patchwork, it's me who wants to shoot in those two days," he added.

"Barfi!" stars Ranbir as a deaf-mute boy while Priyanka essays the role of an autistic girl. Telugu actress Ileana D'Cruz plays narrator.

The shooting is almost over, said Basu and added: "These are speculations. The film is not getting delayed because of anyone. The film is almost complete, we are just waiting for the right date to be decided by UTV. Even I am waiting for that date."

Tezz First Day Business

Tezz had a very poor opening day of around 4 crore nett. The film did better in the single screen circuits of CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan but even here collections were low. The bigger circuits like Mumbai, Delhi/UP, East Punjab had very poor low collections.

The reports of the film are poor though it may show a small gain on Saturday as collections are so low but it has no chance to come out with even a half decent weekend.

The first day collections of Tezz were lower than Players which was a huge disappointment on day one as multiplexes recorded lower collections all over than than film.

Esha Deol to have grand Monsoon wedding

Esha Deol, who surprised one and all by getting engaged to businessman Bharat Takhtani on February 12 this year, is now busy planning her monsoon wedding. The couple has not yet set the wedding date, but they will be tying the knot in the next few months.

Their wedding will be a grand affair wherein she will be inviting all her industry friends unlike their low profile engagement ceremony, where Jaya Bachchan was the only Bollywood personality present. More than the wedding, Esha is very excited about the sangeet ceremony as her family and friends will be dancing together at the event.

Not just her wedding but even her work is keeping her busy, as Esha is working on some scripts and projects she wants to produce. She has not yet decided whether she would want to pursue acting after her marriage.

Ranbir to romance two girls in Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani

A lot has been said about Ranbir Kapoor and more so about his love life. Well, the actor who is shooting for Ayan Mukerji's next, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani (YJHD), will be seen romancing newbie Evelyn Sharma in the film.

The film also stars Deepika Padukone, however Evelyn plays Ranbir's love interest in the initial part of the movie. This means Ranbir will be seen with two girls. Evelyn is a German-Indian model-turned-actor who will make her foray into Bollywood opposite Prateik in director Manish Tiwari's film Issaq which releases this year.

YJHD produced by Dharma Productions also stars Kalki Koechlin and Aditya Roy Kapur.

Vicky Donor First Weekend, Housefull 2 17 Day Total In Overseas

Vicky Donor grossed a decent $350,000 though had a pretty wide release for a film like it of close to 125 prints. It will have to sustain to make it worth such a release. North America was best.

United Kingdom - £40,000

North America - $170,000

UAE - $70,000

Australia - $28,000

Housefull 2 continues to do well as grosses around $5.75 million in 17 days. It is Akshay Kumar's second biggest grosser Overseas after Singh Is Kinng. The major market numbers for till date are as follows.

United Kingdom - £920,000

North America - $1,500,000

UAE - $1,450,000

Australia $510,000

Vicky Donor First Week Business

Vicky Donor had a good first week of around 13 crore nett as the weekdays remained rock steady. The collections at some theatres in the North remained at similar levels all through the weekdays.

Vicky Donor has performed best in Delhi and Punjab while Bihar, CP Berar, CI and Rajasthan are below the mark but even these areas were steady with low collections on the weekdays.

Even though it has huge competition this week in the form of Tezz and The Avengers it will still remain strong in the North.

A better timed release in the Feb-March period could have resulted in a big grosser but even though its competing with a universally accepted Housefull 2 and a heavy flow of releases throughout its run it will still come out with a good final total.

John Abraham to marry this year

Sometimes, things just come together in life. Professionally and personally, you find yourself in a space that can only be described as a happy place.

John Abraham is in that place today. Suddenly, things are coming together for him. Last year, he split with then girlfriend Bipasha Basu after close to a decade of courtship. It wasn't pretty. Things at work too weren't taking off, with both Force and Desi Boyz not quite hitting the mark.

But 2012 has been kinder. Not only has he cemented his relationship with the love of his life Priya Runchal, but his first production Vicky Donor too has been lapped up by the audience and critics alike (ararity). Sitting in his sea-facing home in Bandra, he's wearing that cloak of calm that only a man who is truly content can pull off. Perhaps a large part of that happy halo around him has to do with the fact that he has finally decided to get married. He smiles shyly, and says, "Priya and I have decided to get married this year." He met her last April and knew that he wanted her in his life for the happily-everafter two months later. He laughs off rumours that they got married in Los Angeles a few months ago, saying, "Why would I hide it if it were true?"

He is troubled by the rumours that he began seeing her while he was still with Bipasha. It has also been reported that the duo met in the gym, and John wants to set the record right. "I met Priya through a common friend and there was an instant connection. I can talk to her about anything. Ours is a very honest relationship. We can tell each other everything. I think that is a benchmark for a healthy relationship."

They are from two different worlds, but they believe in the same things. Like the decision to have a small wedding, even though they haven't decided on the date yet. Says John, "I know it will be this year, but I don't know when. It could be in a few months or a few weeks. I am a very impulsive guy. So I might decide to get married next week!" He isn't worried about wedding preparations because there will be none. "It's possible that our wedding may have just the two of us, or 10 people, if we include close family members." It will be a registered wedding. There won't be a religious ceremony because he is "an atheist bordering on being agnostic."

So why is Priya "the one"? "Because I can be myself with her. There are no pretenses. We don't even fight, though we argue sometimes." No fights means no make-up sex, I say. He blushes.

But no fighting isn't the only unusual thing about this new age couple. Theirs could soon be a long distance relationship. Priya is presently in London checking out some courses she wants to pursue, and that could keep her out of the country for the next two years. But they have already discussed the distance issue and are willing to give each other space to follow their passions.

Both sets of parents have given their blessings to the couple too. John has met her family twice, once in LA, where her parents and siblings are settled, and another time in Himachal, when he accompanied Priya there after the demise of her 101-year-old grandfather. An outsider to the industry, Priya wasn't aware of John's stardom when she first met him. He recounts a funny incident when they were seated on the terrace of her ancestral home. Suddenly people all around started coming on the terrace to gape at the actor. Clueless to the commotion, Priya asked, "What is happening? What is this commotion all about?"

He finds it refreshing that she isn't part of the industry or enamoured by it. Right now, he's gearing up for two very big roles in his life - that of a husband and a producer. Although the first one needs no planning, he's set for the second part with two more films that will go on floors by the end of the year. Surely 2012 will be a year that John will look back upon as one of the best years of his life!

Sameera Reddy wants to take Salman for a Bike ride

He leaves girls tongue-tied, actresses included. And while most crazy fangirls want to woo him with romantic, candlelit dinners, Sameera Reddy has a different plan of action.

She’s substituting mush for motorbikes. Recently, while talking about her power-packed bike stunts in Tezz, Sameera revealed, “I want to take Sallu for a bike ride. Of all heroes, I think he’ll be the most chilled out one. He won’t mind if the girl takes charge and he’s riding pillion. He’ll just enjoy the ride.”

What do you think guys? Salman will be agree or angry?

Aa Re Pritam Pyare Official Song- Rowdy Rathore

Now Arjun Rampal to turn the cop

The newest example of B-town’s love affair with moustachiod cops is Arjun Rampal. After Sallu in Dabangg, Ajay Devgn in Singham, Akshay Kumar in Rowdy Rathore, Rana Dagubatti in Department and Sonu Sood in Maximum, it’s now Rampal’s turn to sport a well cultivated tache in Prakash Jha’s Chakravyuh. The actor portrays a cop in uniform for the first time ever.

Rampal confirmed the news and said, “I play Adil Khan who is the fourth generation cop of his family. He is based in Bhopal and fights the naxalites. We wanted a typical cop and  Prakash thought I should sport a moustache. Thankfully, I had ample time to grow one. Then I chopped my hair  and Prakash loved the package.”

He added, “Prakash makes all his characters real as we all know and I just had to maintain my hair cut. I am very kicked about the role and wanted to do something interesting for it. Apart from being the lead, it’s a layered character I play.”

In Elan too Rampal had essayed a cop who is no longer with the force. “It’s an exciting phase in my career and it’s an exciting role,” said the actor.

"Bharat Mata Ki Jai" Video Song | Shanghai | Emraan Hashmi, Abhay Deol

Hate Story well sustains on Monday

Hate Story sustained pretty well on Monday as it collected around 1.25 crore nett as per early estimates. The film has now collected nearly 8 crore nett in four days. The week can come in close to 11 crore nett which would be pretty good.

Single screens continue to do pretty good business while multiplexes also sustained on Monday but are at low levels.

Hate Story may find it hard in week two though as the acceptance of Vicky Donor in the North will help that film in week two in the face of stiff competition but it will be a different story for Hate Story as single screen exhibitors opt for Tezz at their theatres.

source: http://www.boxofficeindia.com/boxnewsdetail.php?page=shownews&articleid=4335&nCat=

Vicky Donor strong on Monday

Vicky Donor held up strongly on Monday as it collected around 1.50 crore nett as per early estimates. The collections in the North were almost similar to Friday while other areas saw small drops. The film has collected nearly 9.50 crore nett in four days and the first week looks set to be around 13.50 crore nett.

The film has found good appreciation amongst the North India multiplex audience and it could sustain well in the North even in its second week despite the release of Tezz and The Avengers. Even places like CP Berar and Rajasthan did not drop much on Monday probably due to the fact that collections are at very low levels.

Vicky Donor may emerge a Hit film on strength of North India multiplexes and good multiplex business in Mumbai and Bangalore.

Tezz Boxoffice Opening Pre Release Prediction - Gautam Batra

Tezz is an upcoming Hindi action thriller film directed by Priyadarshan. The film features an ensemble cast; including Anil Kapoor, Ajay Devgan, Boman Irani, Kangna Ranaut, Sameera Reddy, Zayed Khan and Mohanlal in main roles. Produced by Ratan Jain the movie is set to release on 27 April, 2012.

Lets start with the prediction...

1. The promos have got just average to good response and music has not been popular.

2. Promotions have not been good which has lead to low buzz.

3. Action in the movie seems good but very much classy and the genre is not mass appealing.

4. Ajay Devgan's presence in lead role will help the movie somehow.

On the whole Tezz will start slow and will rely on strong word of mouth. Opening day could be in the range of 5-6 crore nett.

Disclaimer: The prediction is my own idea gathered from the surveys & buzz about the movies. It is accurate to best of my knowledge but the final boxoffice figures can be sometimes different due to uncertainity in boxoffice. The figures given are the nett domestic figures.

Zanjeer Remake in legal troubles

Salim-Javed send a legal notice to Amit Mehra, producer of the remake of their 1973 blockbuster claiming royalties, say they need their dues as per proposed copyright amendment bill

Javed Akhtar and Salim Khan, the writer duo of the original Zanjeer had been rather miffed with Amit Mehra, who with nothing more than their 'blessings' had gone ahead and started shooting the remake.

Earlier Akhtar had even sought legal help regarding the issue. And now, the veteran writers have jointly sent a legal notice to Mehra claiming royalties for the script that they had penned decades back.

Javed Akhtar, who had been on the committee that reviewed the latest Copyright Amendment Bill of 2011, has been the first one to stand up for the rights that the Act ensures.

The Bill upholds the Rights of an author in an entire product such as films. And though Amit Mehra, son of producer Prakash Mehra may have the rights of the film, sharing royalties with the scriptwriters becomes essential.

When contacted, Akhtar told, “We have hired a well-known Delhi based legal firm, Luthra & Luthra. We have also sent a notice to Amit Mehra. We have asked him to start a negotiation. He had earlier met us thrice and every time avoided discussing royalties.”

Mehra's public announcement about gathering Salim-Javed's blessings for free too seems to have bothered the writer. “And now, he has gone ahead and started shooting for the film. We have sent him a legal notice yesterday,” said Akhtar and added, “Salim Khan and I are on the same page regarding the matter. Solicitor Ameet Datta is representing us jointly. In a few days we will hold a press conference to discuss the issue with everyone.”

“Maintaining legal control of your work is critical and this is what the Copyright Act intends. The simple thing that one has to understand is that when the screenplay was written - it was for being developed into a particular film.

While the producer does retain the overall rights for the product - which is the film, one cannot deny that the creative rights of the screenplay writer cannot be ignored,” said solicitor Ameet Datta of Luthra & Luthra, Law Offices, Delhi, which is handling the case of Salim-Javed.

Explaining the need for consent of the authors for using the screenplay for a film remake is besides the point, Datta said that across the world such norms are followed.

“It is unfortunate that the film industry in India has ignored the same and for long. But in our opinion it is a fit case that the duo is contesting for one of their most popular screenplays. They are right in saying that not only their consent should be taken for remaking a film based on their screenplay as apart from. Copyright ownership, the authors also retained moral rights on the screenplay, but they should also be consulted on their royalties, which otherwise if their creative rights were protected-would anyway come to them,” added Datta.

When contacted, Amit Mehra refused to comment.

Ranveer is not my type - Sonakshi Sinha

Those of you who love to talk about Ranveer-Sonakshi affair, here is the update. In a latest interview Sonakshi Sinha has rubbished reports of link-up between her and her current co-actor Ranveer Singh.

In a candid chat, the actress has spoken in detail about the alleged affair between her and Ranveer, which has been doing rounds in the media lately. Talking about the alleged love affair, Sonakshi says, "Ranveer is not my type at all. Such link-up reports affect me at times since I am answerable to my parents. I don't know why someone would try to misconstrue our professional chemistry."

While Sonakshi might deny being romantically involved with Ranveer, the actress however holds him in great esteem. Says she, "He's full of energy, and just the opposite of what I am as an actor. He likes to prepare for his scenes and rehearse a lot; you know what you call method acting. He continues to stay in character even when the camera is switched off. I, on the other hand, hate to rehearse and I switch off with the camera. It makes for an interesting combination and it shows on screen."

It must be mentioned that Ranveer and Sonakshi will be part of Vikramaditya Motwani's upcoming directorial venture titled LOOTERA.

After Acting & Production, its Direction for John Abraham

Actor John Abraham, whose first production "Vicky Donor" is receiving a positive feedback from all quarters, is now planning to try his hand at direction.

"If god wishes, I'll turn director three years down the line. That is my final destination and I will definitely do it," the 39-year-old said.

John, who cast Ayushmann Khurrana and Yami Gautam in "Vicky Donor", already has his further plans as a producer in place.

"I am doing a dark comedy under my production with Kunal Roy Kapoor. It will be directed by Aditya Bhattacharya, who had made 'Raakh' (1989) with Aamir Khan. Kunal plays the lead in the film and I would be there as a supporting actor," said John.

Vicky Donor First Weekend Business

Vicky Donor had a decent weekend as it grossed around 7.75-8 crore nett over its first weekend. The film grossed 1.90 crore nett on Friday, 2.70 crore nett on Saturday and 3.25 crore nett on Sunday. The trending was also pretty good.

The film has found good appreciation in the North and did very well in Delhi city and East Punjab. Delhi/UP grossed around 1.85 crore nett with a huge contribution from Delhi city though UP did not perform. East Punjab was excellent as it grossed 1.12 crore nett which was better than bigger films like Kahaani and Tere Naal Love Ho Gaya.

The other places that did well were Mumbai city and Bangalore. Vicky Donor being a multiplex film with a huge a North Indian touch made it difficult for the film in Bihar, Maharashtra, CPCI, Nizam etc.

The film should sustain well on Monday especially in the North but will face huge competition in its second week from Tezz and The Avengers who will dominate screen space at multiplexes.

Hate Story First Weekend Business

Hate Story did fair business in its first weekend as it grossed around 6.50-6.75 crore nett. The film did well in places like Gujarat, Maharashtra, UP, West Bengal, Bihar, CP Berar, CI and Nizam especially single screens in these areas and even multiplexes in these areas were okay.

Multiplexes of the big metro cities had dull business throughout the weekend. The trending was not great over the weekend but as the business of the film is dominated by the smaller centres it was also going to struggle to show huge growth.

The film will have to do most of its business in its first week as Tezz releasing on Friday will replace it at most of the good collecting single screens that Hate Story is been screened on at present.

The Karan-Ekta film is likely to start in December 2012 and it will have Emraan Hashmi in the lead. If Kareena had agreed to be a part of it, it would have been her first film with the serial kisser.

Teri Meri Kahaani will be a memorable film - Priyanka Chopra

Bollywood actress Priyanka Chopra says that her upcoming film 'Teri Meri Kahaani', a story of eternal love, will be a memorable movie.

"The movie will be a memorable one. The story takes us through a journey of eternal love between a couple who have vowed to love each other not only in this life but in every life to follow. Their love is so strong that even destiny wants to bring them together," Priyanka said.

"This is exactly the journey that I went through while writing Teri Meri Kahaani and this is exactly the journey I want to take you through," said Kunal.

Besides acting in numerous projects, Priyanka is also working on her first pop album. "I am working with some amazing people - trying to create Indian pop music. I want everyone who love India to relate to the music.

Answering a question, she said she trained to sing when she was in school. "I trained in western classic."

Priyanka, who won a National award for her role in "Fashion", said that her best performance is yet to come.

"The best performance is yet to come. I am just a normal person thrown into the acting business. My acting school is my career. In every movie, I try to do a little bit more. I try act to the best of my capabilities. I am glad that the audience has given me a place in their heart."

Asked about her favourite playback singers, she said, "I love Sunidhi Chauhan, Shreya Ghoshal and Alisha Chinoy."

Asked whether she had any plans to act in Hollywood movies, she said "I don't want to be a small part of a big movie. I am happy with Bollywood, Telugu, Tamil and Punjabi movies."

'Teri Meri Kahani' will be in cinemas on June 22, 2012. The film is produced by Sunil Lulla, Vicky Bahri and Kunal Kohli.

The film stars Shahid Kapoor in the lead opposite Priyanka and has been directed by Kunal Kohli.

"The story starts in 1960 Bombay with Govind and Ruksar, then moves ahead to present times, 2012 England with Radha and Krish and then goes back in time to Punjab, 1910 with Aradhana and Javed," said Priyanka, who was here to promote the film.

"It is three different love stories but I enjoyed the 2012 episode the most," she added.

Describing Shahid as a "really good actor", the 29-year-old actress said, "I was playing the real character of 1960s as Ruksar. It was fun to play those parts."

According to director Kunal, the film "is all about love... thrice upon a love story - - soul mates- - The journey of love is something that has always fascinated me and all of us."

"The banter between the couple, the chemistry, the first look, the pain and anguish of separation, the fun of the meetings, the dreaminess of love songs, the thrill the hero gets while flirting with that one person who suddenly is the most important person. The joy, fun, tears and entertainment of our Hindi Cinema is at its peak in our love stories.

Shahid lodges complaint in police station against her fan

Shahid Kapoor surely has a lot of female fan who are absolutely crazy about him but this one female fan (or should we say stalker) has irked Shahid no end. The lady in question 'Vastavikta' is the daughter of late Bollywood actor Rajkumar and has been stalking and harassing Shahid for almost few months now.

She even deliberately shifted her residence close to Shahid's Versova home so that she could keep an eye on every move of his. She has been even claiming that she is Shahid's soul-mate and wife and has become a nuisance for the actor.

While Shahid tried to ignore her crazy obsessive behaviour initially, it now seems that he has had enough. As per reports, an irked Shahid has filed a complaint with the Versova police station against the lady for harassing him time and again.

It remains to be seen if this move will tame the stalker.

Vicky Donor showed good growth on Saturday as all India collections jumped around 35-40% and the film collected around 2.60 crore nett taking its two day business to 4.50 crore nett.

The growth is not huge as happens with some multiplex films but its still a good result as the film has a limited target audience of metro multiplexes.

The film is doing well in Mumbai city, Delhi city, East Punjab and Bangalore. Multiplexes in other areas also showed growth on Saturday but they were coming off very low levels so even with growth collections were on the lower side. The Saturday figures from a few circuits are as follows.

Delhi/UP 65 (46)

East Punjab 40 (27)

CP Berar 8 (6)

Rajasthan - 10 (7)

Friday numbers in brackets. All figures in lakhs.

Housefull 2 continued to do great business in its third week as it collected around 1.75 crore nett on its third Friday. The collections were up at some places from Thursday and down at others with the all India business coming in the same range as Thursday.

The film lost single screens to Hate Story and multiplex screens to Vicky Donor but still came out with strong business. The third weekend for the film is likely to be a huge 8-9 crore nett taking the film to 100 crore nett plus business.

The film has been appreciated across the board in all circuits and all segments of the audience and therefore is sustaining better universally at the box office than all releases of the last few years apart from Three Idiots and Dabangg.
