Ready is the first movie of Salmaan after Dabangg so the craze to see him in his upcoming movie is huge between the audience. This was proved when single screens of the country started the advance booking of the film and the response was awesome. The advance was at par as Dabangg and even better at some places.
Most in the trade seem to feel it will not have an opening weekend like Dabangg as the feeling is that promos are not as strong as Dabanng's. But Salman is there and two hit songs, the Friday could come up to match Dabangg. If the film has good content then the Dabangg weekend is definitely under threat.
The film will be the biggest release ever with a release of close to 1900 prints and around 1400-1500 of these being digital prints.Every exhibitor is wanting to cash onto the craze and films which are steady at the box office like Pyaar Ka Punchnama, Stanley Ka Dabba and Haunted 3D are just left with a show here and there on the bigger multiplexes.
Hangover 2 and Kung Fu Panda (3D) have better luck but at prime multiplexes of Mumbai and South only.The multiplexes with 2/3 screens are giving all shows to Ready. The advance at multiplexes in full starts today and the signs from few multiplexes that opened early are good and 15-20% tickets for the weekend should be gone by the time the film releases on Friday morning.
