Vidhu Vinod Chopra announced his next film after the release of 3 Idiots. However, he has been unable to complete the film as yet. According to an industry source, Ekta Kapoor is the reason behind the delay of Ferrari Ki Sawari.
It is believed that Ekta's recently released Marathi film Taryanche Bait has a similar storyline. TB was a father-son story in which Sachin Khedekar's character promises his son to take him to a five star hotel in Mumbai and how he struggles to fulfill his promise. In FKS, Sharman promises his son a Ferrari ride.
Now when TB is released and has received a decent response, Chopra doesn't want a good subject to go waste or call it a remake of a regional film due to the similar storyline. Therefore, he is making some changes in the script due to which the film will take some more time to start.
FKS was supposed to start early this year and slated to release in December. It will be directed by Rajesh Mapuskar who assisted Rajkumar Hirani during Lage Raho Munnabhai and 3 Idiots. The film stars Sharman Joshi and Deepika Padukone in main leads.
